Built on Humble Beginnings, Hard Work, and Heart
At D&R Masonry Restoration, we’re proud to be a family-owned and operated business. For over three decades, brothers Ray and Danny Elkins have built our company by putting people first—whether it’s our customers or our dedicated team members.
Our story began in 1994 when Ray Elkins, inspired by his grandfather’s advice and following in his footsteps, jumped straight into the masonry restoration and waterproofing trade right after high school. Ray started small—working for a local company during the week and taking on residential projects on weekends and evenings. Armed with little more than a 1980 truck, a few hand tools, and an unwavering work ethic, Ray turned his dream of owning his own business into reality.
As D&R Masonry Restoration grew, Ray’s brother Danny joined him, bringing a wealth of field experience, technical expertise, and a knack for smart decision-making. Together, they’ve navigated countless challenges and celebrated many successes, always staying true to their values and love for the craft.
Today, D&R Masonry Restoration continues to thrive thanks to the same spirit of humility, hard work, and commitment of our entire team. We are a tight-knit family of 100 employees, and we treat every member of our team like family. We’re honored to preserve the incredible structures of the Pacific Northwest and the western United States, and we’re excited to keep building for many years to come.
Ray started D&R Masonry Restoration as a single-employee company in 1994 and has since grown the company to employ over 100 people today. When not in the office or meeting with clients, you will find Ray on the river with a fishing pole in hand!
With a Business degree from OSU and 20 years in construction, Ajax adds valuable leadership and project management skills to D&R Masonry Restoration. With over 20 years of experience multitasking as Controller at D&R, Nikki brings a unique blend of expertise in Promotional Product and Software Sales to her role. She enjoys outdoor recreation year-round with her family.
Rose joined the team in early 2018 and manages being both our Office Administrator and Payroll Specialist. She manages the front office with ease and a sense of humor! Outside of the office, Rose is the mother of 2 daughters and loves shopping and spending time at the Oregon Coast with her family.
Joe brings over 12 years of hands-on field experience with D&R as a caulker to his role as an Estimator, giving him a sharp eye for detail and a deep understanding of the work from the ground up. When he’s not crunching numbers and mapping out projects, you’ll find him hunting, hiking, or enjoying the great outdoors with his wife. A recent empty nester, Joe’s embracing the extra time for adventures — and maybe a little more hunting.
A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from PSU makes Aaron an integral part of the team as our Waterproofing Estimator. Aaron enjoys spending time outdoors and camping with his wife and 3 daughters and playing guitar.

Ben specializes in masonry restoration, bringing five years of field experience to the job along with some formal training.
